Los Angeles Clippers
The NBA world gleefully mocked the Los Angeles Clippers this past season as they once again failed to make the Conference Finals. The much hyped squad entered the season seemingly sure of themselves and ready to take on all comers. And to be fair, this seemed justified. Prior to acquiring Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers were already a deep and talented squad.
What the Clippers and Clippers fans may have overlooked was the fact that teams that make major additions [even if those additions are major upgrades] tend to either take a step backwards or go through a transition period. Combined with learning how to play together, and dealing with multiple injuries all year, they should have never been as heavily favored as they were. Now with this experience under their belt, along with the possibility of adding a true point guard in Rajon Rondo, the Clippers are a legitimate threat to win it all next year.
