 10. Bob McAdoo

22.1 1.5        n/a

After a strong start in the ABA, playing four years there, McAdoo would play a decade in the NBA. The talented and versatile big man would be a two-time NBA champion, one time MVP and five time All-Star.

 9. Bob Lanier

20.1 n/a        n/a

Though Lanier played in a league that actively sought out talented centers, he still stood out and had a long and productive prime with his last All-Star selection being a mere two years before he retired.

 8. Patrick Ewing
25 Greatest Centers

Points Per Game Blocks Per Game             Offensive Rating
21.0 2.4        106

Ewing almost single-handedly personifies the classic NBA big man who was expected to have effective back to the basket post moves and be an anchor defensively. Though a certain player in Chicago overshadowed much of Ewing’s prime, he will always be remembered as one of the preeminent big men of the 90s.

 7. Moses Malone
25 Greatest Centers

Points Per Game Blocks Per Game             Offensive Rating
20.3 1.3        114*

Moses Malone was known as the “Chairman of the Boards” for good reason. Malone was able to effectively assert his will on the game in a number of ways. Whether crashing the class, protecting the rim or scoring in bunches, Moses was a unique and forceful talent at the center position.

 6. David Robinson
25 Greatest Centers

Points Per Game Blocks Per Game             Offensive Rating
21.1 3.0        116

David Robinson is guilty of perhaps the pettiest move in NBA history when he went out of his way to rack up 71 points in a largely meaningless game to deny Shaquille O’Neal the scoring title. Extreme pettiness aside, Robinson was one of the greatest centers with an all-around game that had few holes.
