The Triple Threat 12/30/20

11-4 last 15. Super crazy day yesterday, we went 2-1 SO close to 3-0 and even closer to 0-3. Almost everyone of my picks were down by double digits but the 76ers and Celtics flipped a switch and gave us the W we deserve. I appreciate the effort both teams put out during their comebacks and we thank you. Sadly, the Nuggets couldn’t pull through for us but we moved on, don’t love the board but were able to find something I can lay my money onto. That being said, let’s get to the picks.

Game 1: Milwaukee Bucks @ Miami Heat

Pick: Miami Heat 1Q +1.5

2nd night in a row that both teams play each other. The Miami Heat were without Jimmy Butler yesterday and it showed. The Milwaukee Bucks broke an NBA record on the Miami Heat being the first team EVER to hit 29 3s, it was raining in the American Airlines Arena. Although tonight I love the Miami Heat to show some pride in the first quarter and defend their home court as long as they can. Erik Spoelstra will make sure Miami keeps the intensity alive and make the team avenge him after that sorry performance last night. Miami will probably have Jimmy Butler back tonight and as the defensive anchor of the team and the on court leader he will lead Miami to either a first quarter tie or even a first Q lead. Miami comes out hot, BUT I still like the Milwaukee Bucks to win this game. Giannis’ legs are still fresh from last night because he didn’t really play many minutes and I expect the Bucks to come out of the half time and put Miami away. Just bet the first Q, you’ll thank me later.

Game 2: Memphis Grizzlies @ Boston Celtics

Pick: o217.5

Another classic case of the line being too low. I know the Memphis Grizzlies are without Ja Morant for 3-5 weeks because of an ankle sprain but when there’s opportunity someone will step up and make the points for the Grizzlies, to make matters worse they aren’t a good defensive team and they LOVE to shoot 3’s if they fall this over hits easily. To make me feel even better about this over bet they are playing a Boston Celtics team who has been through the grinder recently. 2 close defensive games against the Indiana Pacers and this will be their 3 game in 4 nights but they are just dying to play a team that doesn’t carry the same defensive intensity that the Pacers carry. I expect the Celtics big 2 in Tatum and Brown has a big game offensively but defensively they’re young but they’re definitely tired. I don’t expect them to take that side of the ball too seriously because of the team they’re playing and I expect some easy buckets to be scored early. Points will be scored all over the place. Over hits in the 3rd.

Game 3: Charlotte Hornets @ Dallas Mavericks

Pick: Dallas Mavericks -4.5 1H

BLOWOUT alert! This is going to be a beat down. The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a beautiful performance against the Los Angeles Clippers and were clicking on cylinders. This game is a mismatch and the Mavericks can put this game out of reach early. They’ve had 2 days of rest while the Hornets have 1 day of rest. That’s not what I’m banking my bet on but that definitely helps. Another nice bet would be the Luka over on points, if this kid is going to win MVP this year this game is the perfect opportunity to pad some stats. I’m honestly not expecting the Hornets to put up too much of a fight, they don’t spark me as a team that knows how to come back from adversity and bounce back from a deficit just in case that’s why I’m riding the first half and not the full. The Mavs should be up 10-15 at halftime whether they allow the Hornets to come back has nothing to do with me because by that point I’m already counting my profit.

If you stuck here till the end of this thank you for being an absolute legend. I’m going to continue to share my NBA knowledge and hopefully we can all win some money together.
