4 Players Who Will Finish At The Rim - Upside Hoops

4 Players Who Will Finish At The Rim

You never want to be the guy caught in the middle of the paint who gets posterized because someone dunked on you. The NBA has guys who are downright scary to be in the paint with. These players will run over you as if you aren’t even there. These 4 guys specifically, will finish at the rim no matter who’s trying to stop them.

King James, he’s 6’8″ and weighs 250 lbs of muscle, with this build, it’s almost like running into a steel pole. At 36 years old, James still competes at a high level. If LeBron doesn’t throw an alley-oop to Anthony Davis, he will turn up the speed and go for his signature dunk; bring the right arm back, slamming it into the hoop. If a player is guarding James, they will be sorry and end up posterized. Once he’s ready to drive in, he goes full force and uses his body to maneuver through the crowd. He finishes very strong.

Russell has speed and control, which makes him dangerous in the paint. He plays at a fast tempo and commands the pace of the game. Russell isn’t afraid to reset when something isn’t right. It doesn’t have to be a fast break for Westbrook. Once he puts on the skates, Russ is going to finish at the rim. If he doesn’t, he’s going to make you draw a hard foul, either way, the defender is going to leave his feet attempting to stop him and it may not be successful. When he’s on fire Westbrook is hot and the other team is in trouble.

During his rookie season in 2019, he first stepped foot in the NBA and made a name for himself. Ja Morant was the “almost posterizing guy”. Morant almost never finished at the rim, but was very close every time. In his second NBA season, Ja showed out. He began posterizing anyone caught between him and the basket. If the defender even allows a little space, he’s going to take advantage of it.

The Greek Freak didn’t score that name for just any reason. Compared to his rookie season, Giannis’ build has drastically increased. His athleticism is also incredible. Antetokounmpo makes his way to the paint by driving or backing down the defender. It’s a scary sight to see the Greek Freak driving to the rim because he will finish. Even though he’s the youngest player on his team, Antetokounmpo’s ability guarantees him a prosperous future in the NBA.

It’s without a doubt that LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Ja Morant, and Giannis Antetokounmpo all will posterize you at the rim. Any team should be prepared to take the hard foul to try and stop one of these athletes. Otherwise, they will score a quick two in the paint whether it’s by dunk or layup. Some will say these guys have tunnel vision. No matter who’s in front, they’re putting the jets on and coming full force to attack the basket.
