Best Players in Sacramento Kings History

The Sacramento Kings have a rich history in the NBA, and their top players have made a significant impact on the league. From talented scorers to dominant big men, the Kings have had some of the best players in NBA history represent their franchise.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Sam Lacey: Sam Lacey played for the Kings from 1970-1981 and was a defensive stalwart during his time with the team. He was an excellent rebounder and shot-blocker who averaged 9.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game during his time with the team. Lacey was also named to the NBA All-Defensive team twice during his career.
  • Mitch Richmond: Mitch Richmond was a prolific scorer during his time with the Kings from 1991-1998. He averaged 23.3 points per game during his tenure with the team and was a six-time All-Star. Richmond was the team’s leading scorer for six consecutive seasons and helped lead the Kings to the playoffs in five of his seven seasons with the team.

Oscar Robertson (1960-1970)

Oscar Robertson spent ten seasons with the Kings, averaging 29.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game. He was one of the most dominant players in NBA history, with exceptional scoring, rebounding, and passing abilities. He was named an All-Star nine times during his tenure with the team and won the NBA MVP award in 1964.

 

Chris Webber (1998-2005)

Chris Webber was a dynamic forward who played for the Kings from 1998-2005. He was a five-time All-Star during his time with the team and helped lead the Kings to the playoffs in each of his six seasons with the team. Webber was a versatile player who could score, rebound, and pass at a high level.

Peja Stojakovic (1998-2006, 2010-2011)

Peja Stojakovic spent nine seasons with the Kings, averaging 18.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He was a deadly shooter from beyond the arc and was also a solid rebounder. He was named an All-Star three times during his tenure with the team and helped lead the Kings to the Western Conference Finals in 2002.

Mitch Richmond (1991-1998)

Mitch Richmond spent seven seasons with the Kings, averaging 23.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He was a prolific scorer who could shoot from anywhere on the court and was also a solid defender. He was named an All-Star six times during his tenure with the team and won the NBA All-Star Game MVP award in 1995.

Vlade Divac (1998-2004)

Vlade Divac spent six seasons with the Kings, averaging 12.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He was a skilled big man who could pass the ball exceptionally well for his size. He helped lead the Kings to the Western Conference Finals in 2002 and was named to the NBA All-Star Game in 2001.

Otis Thorpe

Otis Thorpe played for the Kings from 1994-1997 and was a dominant rebounder and scorer during his time with the team. He averaged 18.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per game during his first season with the team and was named an All-Star for the only time in his career.

Nate Archibald

Nate Archibald played for the Kings from 1976-1977 and was one of the best point guards in the league during his time with the team. He led the league in both scoring and assists during the 1972-73 season while playing for the Kansas City-Omaha Kings, making him the only player in NBA history to have led the league in both categories in the same season.

 

Doug Christie (2000-2005)

Doug Christie spent five seasons with the Kings, averaging 9.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. He was a tenacious defender who could guard multiple positions and was also a skilled passer. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive Team in 2003 and helped lead the Kings to the Western Conference Finals in 2002.

 

Mike Bibby (2001-2008)

Mike Bibby spent seven seasons with the Kings, averaging 17.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. He was a skilled point guard who could score from the perimeter and was also a solid defender. He helped lead the Kings to the Western Conference Finals in 2002 and was named to the NBA All-Star Game in 2003.

 

Jack Twyman (1955-1966)

Jack Twyman spent eleven seasons with the Kings, averaging 19.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. He was a skilled scorer who could shoot from the perimeter and was also a solid rebounder. He was named an All-Star six times during his tenure with the team and helped lead the Rochester Royals (the team’s name before it moved to Sacramento) to the NBA Championship in 1951.
